Liz Walker, known for her local fame as an anchor and reporter for some of New England’s best local channels, comes to Dedham TV with her new show, “Sunday Sermon with Reverend Liz Walker.”

Some people may not know that Liz is a Pastor at the Roxbury Presbyterian Church in Roxbury, MA. Recently, Rev. Walker led the Interfaith Mass for the Boston Marathon Victims in Boston, MA. Included in this promo are her words from that day, and information on when the next airing will be on Dedham TV.

Meeting Brett Rhyne; write-in Democrat for U.S. Senate

United States Senate Candidate Brett Rhyne (D-MA) visited Dedham TV on Thursday, April 5, 2013 with his three children to speak his case to the people of Dedham. Brett is a write-in candidate for the April 30, 2013 Special Election to replace current appointed Senator Mo Cowan.

On March 27th, 2013, Dedham Television hosted the first, LIVE televised Candidate forum at 502 Sprague Street in Dedham. Each candidate for Parks & Recreation, Library Trustee, and School Committee was asked a myriad of questions over our social media outlets and via email during the one and a half hour debate.

Many residents tuned in to the LIVE forum or attended the event as part of our studio audience.

Candidates can be seen as part of two additional forums before the Election on Saturday, April 13, 2013.

Ed Markey, a 30+ year veteran of elected office joins an equally “dinosaured” Democratic opponent in Stephen Lynch. The Republicans counter with three little known conservatives trying to make a splash in the most shallow of waters.

The Blizzard of 2013: Photos of Dedham

On February 8th and 9th of 2013, Dedham and the Surrounding Region experienced one of the largest snowfall totals since 1978, pounding the region in some areas with over 3 feet of snow and drifts from whipping winds.

Dan Hallissey of Avendes Media Services in Dedham was able to venture out during and after the storm to take pictures and document the storm in Dedham. As Dan went from location to location, it seemed as if the world had stopped for a moment, as churches, schools, and businesses alike were all closed for 3 or more days.

Wicked Awesome Super*owl Special

Mike Kane and Phil Daré return for the first time in over a year to present the Superbowl 47 Recap exclusively on Dedham TV.

On February 3rd, the Ravens and 49ers squared off in arguably one of the more memorable Superbowls in the history of the NFL. After halftime, half of the on-feild lights stopped working due to a faulty piece of equipment that had reportedly been replaced to handle the extra power load that was needed to handle the influx of media, entertainment, and patronage that the Superbowl always brings to New Orleans, LA.

For the first half, an again during halftime, Greg Agnew joined the cast of characters as a special guest, handling the duties (at least for part of the time) of Phil Daré, who was busy finding a suit to wear in his walk-in luxury closet.

Joined by a live studio audience, Mike, Phil, and Greg broke down the game, added some hilarity, and discussed why next year’s Superbowl 48 might be more exciting if two teams with talent actually met on the same field.

Political Edge returns for 4th season and gets edgy

In 2012, the Political Edge took a year off to work on a new set, a new show format, and got a little more edgy. With new contributors John Pucillo and Steve Straight joining returning host Greg Agnew, the extreme right, progressive left, and everything in between is brought to light.

Our first show goes in depth about the looming fiscal cliff, the payroll tax increases, John Kerry’s replacement in the U.S. Senate, and wraps up with an informed discussion on how to get the economy rolling while improving our National Debt situation.

Dancing with the Dedham Stars 2012

December 2012 rolled around this year, and brought with it the Annual Benefit for the Dedham Educational Partnership: Dancing with the Dedham Stars. Mosley’s on the Charles once again hosted the event, one of the largest community gatherings every December.

Last year, the event raised over $25,000 for the Dedham School System, a much needed funding boost that helps all sorts of programs throughout each and every school that is in Dedham.

Every year, Dedham TV is responsible for the filming of the event, along with Bob Stanley of the Parks and Recreation Department, who provides the video footage of the “Stars” practicing at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Dedham Square. This year, Robert Blaney joined the crew, a professional DJ who happens to be the Director of the Dedham Youth Commission, and a member of the Board of Directors for Dedham Visionary Access Corporation, Dedham TV’s 501 (c) 3 Registered Non-Profit Organization.

We’d also like to thank Adam Long from Westwood Community Access Television for stopping by and helping us set up and take down all of our equipment. In addition, thanks to Dan Hallissey for providing a second much needed projector, and for filming the floor level view of the event.
