We’d thought we would stop teasing you for just a bit, and give you the recipe for the delicious dish you saw on our Healthy Eating Promo! Be sure to tune in during the month of June to see the full episode, right here on DTV!

Asian Marinated Pork

½ c. Tamari
¼ c. Pineapple Juice
¼ c. Green Onion
¼. Shallots
¼ c. cilantro
2 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. ginger
2 tbsp. rice wine vinegar
2 tbsp. garlic
2 tbsp. sesame oil
1 tbsp. crushed red pepper
2 lbs. pork loin
2 tbsp. canola oil

1. Combine all ingredients, except for canola oil and pork, using a food processor, immersion blender or in mixing bowl by hand. If doing by hand make sure all ingredients are chopped up very fine.

2. Marinate pork in mixture for 1 hour.

3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat canola in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and cook pork until golden brown on all sides.

4. Transfer pan to oven and cook pork 18-25 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature, 145 degrees.

Asian Slaw

3 tbsp. fresh ginger, minced
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
2 tsp. sesame oil
¼ c. olive oil
¼ cup rice wine vinegar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. mirin (Japanese rice wine)
5 tbsp. tamari
1 cabbage head, chopped
3 carrots, shredded
1 red onion, julienned
1 red bell pepper, julienned
1 bok choy, chopped
1/2 bunch green onions

1. Saute ginger and garlic with 1 tsp. of the sesame oil, for 4 minutes just until they are soft.

2. Slowly whisk in olive oil, rest of the sesame oil, vinegar, brown sugar, mirin and tamari, to emulsify.

3. Add the dressing to the vegetables and gently mix together by hand.

5 Spice Apples

1 tbsp butter
1 red onion, diced
2 green apple, diced
1 red apple, diced
½ tsp five spice powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 c. apple juice
Add salt and pepper to taste

1. Melt the butter in a pan and add the onions, sauté for 5 minutes.

2. Add the apples, five spice powder, brown sugar, apple juice, salt and pepper.

3. Let the juice cook down for about 20 mins at a low simmer. Serve warm and spread on top of the pork.
